The Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and driving revenue growth. This role requires a deep understanding of sustainability and environmental sectors to effectively promote services and secure contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Market Research and Analysis:
• Conduct comprehensive market research to identify potential business opportunities in the waste management industry.
• Analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to develop growth strategies.
2. Business Development:
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, industry events, and direct outreach.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including oil and gas companies, regulatory bodies, and environmental agencies.
• Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
3. Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve company objectives in the waste management sector.
• Collaborate with the executive team to set and meet sales targets.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of business development activities and adjust strategies as needed.
4. Sales and Revenue Growth:
• Lead negotiations and close deals with clients to secure new contracts and partnerships.
• Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to contract signing.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the company.
5. Client Relationship Management:
• Ensure excellent client service and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
• Address client inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Regularly update clients on new services and developments within the company.
6. Collaboration and Coordination:
• Work closely with other departments, including operations, marketing, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of business development strategies.
• Coordinate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns tailored to the waste management and oil and gas industries.
7. Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure that business development activities comply with all relevant laws and standards.
• Assist in preparing and submitting regulatory documents as needed.
8. Reporting and Documentation:
• Prepare regular reports on business development activities, sales performance, and market trends.
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, contracts, and business development activities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development and sales.
• Strong knowledge of waste management practices.
• Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the waste management sector is an advantage.
